Joshua is dedicated in sharing music and his experiences with the youth. In Boston, he was part of the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, where he aided elementary and high-school orchestras and chamber ensembles. Prior to moving to Edmonton, he was involved with the Calgary Multicultural Orchestra – an El-Sistema organization that provides musical opportunities for underprivileged youth; there he led student ensembles, private- lessons, violin group classes, and engaged in positive community growth with music-making. As a teacher, Joshua believes it is important to understand that not all students are alike. He approaches teaching by catering to each individual student’s personality and needs. His goal is for students to be learning in a comfortable and engaging environment. Music is a unique form of expression, and Joshua strives to guide students to find a deeper connection in themselves with music.
While dedicated to teaching, Joshua maintains an active performing career. He regularly holds solo recitals, and is a part of various orchestral performances. Outside of violin, Joshua enjoys running, finding new television series, and listening to non-classical music including hip-hop and pop.
